McCaskill Family Update: July 2010

11 weeks

We had our first appointment with my regular OB this morning.

Babies are doing great - each one is about 1 3/4 inches long!

I'm still feeling well. The only thing I haven't been able to handle is orange juice - it makes me puke - so I stay away from it.

I'm definitely not fitting in my regular clothes very well,

so I've been shopping a little.

We go back in 1 month for another check-up.

9 weeks

Our babies are doing great & growing well -

they're each about 1 inch in length!

The fertility specialist released us today,

so no more trips to Shreveport!

We'll now be seeing my regular OB in Longview.

This is the best shot we ended up getting with them together.

They weren't very photogenic today :(

Dr. London had one good shot with both of them together, then we watched as baby B "wiggled" away from view before he captured it - it was really cute to see one of them move, though!

I'm still feeling great! Really tired & hungry all the time, but have been able to avoid any serious nausea so far. While on vacation in Colorado last week I found that my clothes no longer fit well, so it looks like we'll be shopping sooner than later...

(From one of our pregnancy books) Our babies are 1/2 - 3/4 inch long! Eyelid folds are forming on the face & nerve cells in the retina are beginning to develop. The tip of the nose is present and ears are forming. In the heart, the aortic & pulmonary valves are present & distinct. Tubes leading from the throat to the functioning part of the lungs are branched, like the branches of a tree. The body's trunk area is getting longer & straightening out. Elbows are present, & the arms & legs extend forward. Arms have grown longer. They bend at the elbows & curve slightly over the heart. The digital rays, which become fingers, are notched. Toe rays are present on the feet.
