6 Months

Are you kidding me?!?! How can they be 6 months old already? It's true... Casen & Collins are 6 months old today. We can't believe our babies are growing up so fast!
They are doing better with baby foods. Neither one has developed any attachment to cereal (rice nor oatmeal), but we've tried peas & sweet potatoes with gradual improvement over the past couple of weeks. Today we decided to see what they would do with puffs & it was pretty entertaining to watch them try to figure out what to do with this new little piece of food. After some photo-worthy faces, they each managed to get a few puffs down - success!

Bryan To the Rescue!

What a crazy night!! We were feeding the babies Sunday night when I heard a noise outside. We have a wild duck that has nested in our front flowerbed, & when Bryan went to investigate the noise he found our poor little duck encoiled by a 5-6 foot long rat snake! We assume the snake was after the duck's eggs & she was trying to fight it off. Bryan prodded the snake off the duck with a stick, but it kept trying to get at the eggs. It even climbed up the side of our house & wrapped around our gutter! Bryan quite bravely captured the snake & let it loose in the field away from the duck's nest. She was very happy that he was there to save her!!

Summer Fun

Casen & Collins went swimming for the first time this weekend & had a blast! I thought they might be a little scared, but they loved splashing around in the water. Bryan & I had so much fun watching them!

Collins loved swimming with her daddy! She is just adorable!!

Casen & mommy exploring the pool - so fun!

You want us to eat what?!?!

Casen & Collins tried their first baby food today... peas! As you can see, it did not go well. Casen was horrified that we would put such a thing into his mouth and really did not appreciate the introduction.
Collins took a few swallows, but let the rest fall all over her bib. In the end, the peas went to the fridge... until we try again tomorrow.

Father's Day 2011

As Bryan would say... "the best Father's Day ever!" These two little bundles have changed our lives in so many wonderful ways. We are extremely blessed!

Casen & Collins hanging out with their awesome Daddy!
Some special father-daughter time... Collins is such a smiley girl!

Case & Lainey both love reaching out & grabbing the toys on their play mat & infant rocker. It's so fun to watch them develop & meet their milestones!
Collins made it into the activity center! She is great at tummy time now & did pretty well holding herself up with a little support in the activity center. So much to see!

Rolling Over

Casen & Collins are on a roll! Case rolled from his to belly to his back during tummy time one day, & Collins has rolled from her back to her belly twice this week. They still aren't quite sure what to do once they roll over, but something tells me it won't take them long to figure it out!

Last weekend we traveled to Dallas for Bryan's sister's high school graduation. While we were there Case & Collins got to hang out with a bunch of family & friends.
Here they are with their twin 2nd cousins, Emma & Ella.
Bryan & Case with Bryan's cousin, Holly, her husband John, & their son, Evan. (There's the future Aggie in the background :) Collins with her great grandma Vivian. Kendall & Collins. We're getting better at tummy time!
Such a strong little man!
Casen started reaching out for objects more this week. He loves to play with the animals on his infant rocker.
Collins cuddling with her Wampa. Casen hanging out with Wampa.
Casen tried out his activity center for the first time this week - he loved it! He's still not sure what to do with everything, but it's cute to watch him explore. Collins still isn't strong enough to sit in the activity center alone, but it won't be long!
