The twins got their first baths this morning - Happy New Year! Of course, they both cried through the entire cold, wet experience. Collins went first & perked up as soon as we wrapped the blankets around her at the end. Casen had some trouble recovering, though & couldn't get his body temperature back up. We tried to warm him with blankets & daddy's body heat, but in the end he needed the incubator again. He'll be back in the incubator full-time for the next 2-3 days. Dr. Chris wants to take it easy on him & not stress him out, so we won't be attempting any bottle/breast feeds until he comes out for good. I was discharged from the hospital yesterday, but we are lucky to be able to stay in one of the hospital's courtesy rooms for the weekend so we can be close to the babies.

Collins has been a little jaundice over the past couple of days & they've been monitoring her bilirubin levels. Her bili went up again today, so Dr. Chris ordered phototherapy to help break down the bilirubin in her blood & resolve the jaundice more quickly. She'll be under the lights for the next 2-3 days until her levels drop. She looks really cute with her "shades" on... the worst part is we can only take her out to hold her for breastfeeding :(

Well, not to be outdone by his big sister, Casen's bilirubin levels came back even higher than Collins', so he gets his very own bank of lights. As you can see, he's quite comfortable in his sun box! What a cutie!!
